Inventure of the City Center ? Brno – Veveří – Žerotínovo náměstí
Holá, Martina ; Chládek, Pavel (referee) ; Hybská, Bohumila (advisor)
The main subject of the thesis is a revision of current area framing northwest part of Žerotín Square, that nowadays consists of so called White house (center for children health care and a seat of a medical school). The design is based on theoretical situation concerning the removal of White house and therefore it uses the newly existing place as a subject for new architectural solution. The solution emphasizes the completion of current block of buildings with large courtyard and corner between Žerotín Square and Veveří street, which is very important for traffic. The thesis is focusing on finding the right form, scale and functional content which would reflect the importance of the location, especially focusing on the Brno’s ring road that goes directly to Denisovy sady and accessibility of this city’s part. It also respects the design of the back side of the Red Church. The design uses the newly existing place as a location for new apartment building that reflects the scale of similar buildings in Marešov and other nearby streets and it also proposes administration building as an architectural solution for this location, which would be used as a seat for both municipal and national institutions.
Favorit Brno / cycling stadium - bicross track / architectural study - design / stage 2021/22
Nováková, Lucie ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis is an architectural study of a cycling stadium - velodrome in the Pisárky district in Brno for TJ Favorit Brno. The existing velodrome is located southwest on the edge of the Brno Exhibition Center on Křížovského Street. The Velodrome no longer meets the current requirements of track cycling, but it is historically valuable and has its genius loci. The new 250 m long wooden bike track (together with other parameters of the International Cycling Union) and its associated sports grounds are "inserted" into the existing velodrome, which is modified and reconstructed according to requirements. The grandstands have been preserved. The built-in building with a new track is then completely roofed, creating an enclosed space. As part of the stadium reconstruction, a new facility was also created for TJ Favorit Brno from a modular container system; These are changing rooms for athletes, administrative areas, and facilities for visiting clubs and athletes and IP areas. The container construction system for sports facilities is very practical, economical, fast, environmentally friendly, variable, and flexible to the current requirements of a constantly evolving sport. The Anteroom and ground floor in the southern part of the existing velodrome is equipped with services for the public: a cafe, souvenir shop, cash register, information center, service, and a bicycle and sports equipment store. The new track with grandstands is covered with ETFE foil anchored to new lattice trusses, which are connected to the existing roof.

The final work aims to communicate via simplicity in painting's form related to family background. Trough the banalized motives I'm letting the spectator to stop for a while and think about the values of family sharing.
Motion Detection in Video Sequences
Chadim, Petr ; Štancl, Vít (referee) ; Švub, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis deal with a problem of motion detection in video sequence. The basic principle of method Bacground subtraction and the algorithm for searching differences between frames were described in details. Great attention is made for actualization of referential frame. Part of this thesis is a localization of motion object. The result of this thesis is an application for testing of motion detector in different environments.
The effect of the background and dataset size on training of neural networks for image classification
Mikulec, Vojtěch ; Kolařík, Martin (referee) ; Rajnoha, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the impact of background and database size on training of neural networks for image classification. The work describes techniques of image processing using convolutional neural networks and the influence of background (noise) and database size on training. The work proposes methods which can be used to achieve faster and more accurate training process of convolutional neural networks. A binary classification of Labeled Faces in the Wild dataset is selected where the background is modified with color change or cropping for each experiment. The size of dataset is crucial for training convolutional neural networks, there are experiments with the size of training set in this work, which simulate a real problem with the lack of data when training convolutional neural networks for image classification.
Sport hall and its facilities for the elementary school Hudcova 35, Brno
Šmajda, Róbert ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is the design of the SPORTS HALL AND ITS FACILITIES FOR THE PRIMARY SCHOOL HUDCOVA 35, BRNO. The diploma thesis directly follows on from the developed urban planning study from subject AG056 - Pre-diploma project. The elaborated architectural study deals with the object of the sports hall and its facilities serving primarily elementary school students, fans of recreational sports, but also the general public. The addressed area is located in the Brno-Medlánky district. The building plot is spread over a slightly sloping terrain. The plot itself is currently surrounded by mostly flat fields, pastures and a historical park. The study of the sports hall, as well as the urban study of the territory, respects the surrounding terrain and the natural character of the landscape. It simultaneously recognizes pedestrian and traffic communication directions and connections to the immediate surroundings. The proposed hall together with the background, a tribune for 300 spectators, a multifunctional hall and a clubhouse with a buffet has the shape of a pure block cut into the terrain. It uses materials such as wood, glass and concrete. It consists of 3 floors and an entrance mezzanine. The balance between the proposed sports hall, the expression of respect for the current natural scenery and terrain relief is taken into account in the architectural expression of the entire object.

Effects of pattern, size and background contrast of prey on discrimination learning in avian predators
Kuncová, Aneta ; Exnerová, Alice (advisor) ; Komárek, Stanislav (referee)
The topic of this master thesis was the effects of pattern, size and background contrast of prey on discrimination learning of avian predators. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of selected components of warning coloration on aversive discrimination learning of avian predators of different age and sex. The choosen model organism was the Great tit (Parus major). The comparision was done between hand-reared naïve birds and wild-caught adults of different age and sex. The experiment was taking place in the experimental cage with one way mirror. The experiment used a design of simultaneous task with two pray which differed in one component of the coloration (pattern, size and background kontrast). The differencies in the ability of discrimination learning was found just between hand-rared naïve birds and wild-caught adults. Better results were shown by the wild-caught adults. The ability of discrimination learning of wild-caught adults was not influenced by the age and sex. Pattern was the only significant component of the warning coloration due to which the birds were able to memorise the discrimination task. Key words: avoidance learning, unpalatable prey, pattern, size, background, contrast
The perception of teacher's authority by 6th and 9th grade pupils
Matějková, Karolína ; Šaroch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Syřiště, Ivo (referee)
This diploma thesis is concerned with the perception of the teacher's authority by pupils of the 6th and 9th grades of a grammar school. The main aim of the thesis is to compare the perception of the teacher's authority by students of the above mentioned age groups from different perspectives. These aspects include ontogenetic stages of their development, the gender and the milieu. They are one of the topics that will be paid attention to in the theoretical part of the thesis. Another theme of the work includes the concept of authority and the authority of the teacher. The research is based od a quantitative survey, carried out through a questionnaire created for research purposes. The task of the questionnaire is to find out whether the perception of the teacher's authority changes depending on the age of the pupils, which means a specific stage of ontogenetic development, and how the above mentioned points affect the perception of teacher's authority by pupils of 6th and 9th grades. In order to confirm or specify the obtained questionnaire data or add information to them, a semi-structured interview was conducted with selected teachers. The interview was attended by five respondents, two men and three women of various age, with different length of work experience at various schools. The aim of...
